This Privacy Policy explains how MyBibliotheca (“MyBibliotheca,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our hosted reading tracker. We aim to collect only what we need to provide a useful, secure service.

- Account information: your username and email address.
- Authentication information: your password is transformed into a one-way password hash. We do not store your plaintext password.
- Library information: books, reading status, ratings, notes, dates, ownership details, and other information you choose to add.
- Imports and support messages: files or information you provide through an import or when you contact us.
2. Information created when you use the service
We may receive basic technical and security information such as IP address, browser and device details, timestamps, request information, and error or security logs. We use this information to keep the service working, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and protect accounts.
3. Cookies
MyBibliotheca uses essential session and security cookies so you can sign in and submit protected forms. We do not use advertising cookies or sell reading activity for targeted advertising.
4. How we use information
- To create and operate your account and personal library.
- To send essential messages such as account verification and password-reset emails.

We keep account and library information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and associated information by contacting us. We may retain limited information where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or resolving disputes.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please choose a unique password and contact us promptly about suspected account misuse.
